Hi

she was born on the 20th Nov 1901 and was aged 90 when she died..  If you want the death reg details let me know and I'll pm them to you.

As for wanting to know where she is buried you can email Richardson St Cemetary with the details name, date of death and where she died it will be easier for them to search rather than having to trawl through records which is time consumming to them...  I do know that they charge for this service but I think that is if they don't have any details to go on.  Anything is worth a try.

Good luck in your hunting

Catherine

Hi Heathers

The Miners Arms just as you enter Flimby has now been converted into a house.

Was a lovely old pub..I was born and bred in Flimby until I flew the nest to Carlisle haha.

If you google street view for Flimby you will see what it looks like now.

Regards
Catherine

Your welcome Mumfy

Just for your information Carlisle Records Office is closed as it has been relocated to another part of the city I think it is open the begining of June.

I do know some of the records have been placed in Carlisle library but not sure which ones, perhaps a call to the library might help.

Good luck in your search
Cath

Hi Mumfy

Here  is a link http://www.workhouses.org.uk/Brampton that gives you a map and a picture of the workhouse as it stands in 2005.
This was the first one before the second one was built in Brampton.  There is some good reading on the link provided.

If you go onto google maps and google Brampton then zoom in on Gelt Road and keep going up you can see what the workhouse looks like now.

What yr roughly from the census was Mary born? as the nearest church to Curthwaite is Thursby and I've found a Mary Hungtington but the parents don't match up ...her christening is 6th July 1809 and the parents are John Huntington and Mary Williamson.

Thank you so much for the transcript, unfortunatly I don't have a connection but strangely enough my grandad was born on the same street at 66 and his youngest son (my uncle)  lives in 61.

Thank you for all your help, its just a shame I can't place them

Regards
Catherine
