Steve, I also have not found much information on Alexander.  But since I am in the USA all I can do is internet searches. My grandmother was a Haddock, and I have many Haddock relatives in the Lurganville, Moira, Lisburn area.  I did come across this 1851 census fragment:

Excerpt from 1851 fragments

16. ALEXANDER HADDOCK, 60 (Head) [Married 1821, 1845] - PLOUGHMAN (Tyrone)
SARAH HADDOCK, 44 (Wife) [Married 1830, 1845] - SPINNING LINEN YARN (Antrim) (R/W)
ISAC HADDOCK, 20 (Son) [Unmarried] - LINEN WEAVER (Antrim) (R)
THOMAS HADDOCK, 12 (Son) [Unmarried] - LINEN WEAVER (Antrim) (R)
BENJAMIN HADDOCK, 3 (Son) [Unmarried] - NONE (Antrim)
Absent from Household 30th March 1851:
JAMES HADDOCK, 27 (Son) - LINEN WEAVER {America}
ALEXANDER HADDOCK, 24 (Son) - ARMY {Cape of Good Hope}
WILLIAM JOHN HADDOCK, 22 (Son) - LINEN WEAVER {Antrim}

Died since 6th June 1841:
ANN HADDOCK, 40 (Wife) - NONE - Consumption - Winter 1843
ABIGAIL HADDOCK, 11 (Daughter) - NONE - Consumption - Spring 1843

Fascinating piece of family history.  Thomas Haddock was my g-g-grandfathers brother. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks, you both just confirmed a suspicion that I had that Nathaniel was previously married.  I had found a reference to a marriage of William John Haslem in 1913 that listed his father as Nathaniel.  Nathaniel also willed his farm to Thomas Haslem and Robert Titterington, now I see the possible connection there.

My G grandmother was Mary Ann Haslem nee Titterington.  She shows up in the 1901 census as residing with her brother James Titterington in Lurganville, Moira, and is listed as 44 yo.  I know she had at least 3 children, Samuel Titterington (aka Samuel Haslem), Minnie (or Mary) Haslem, and Thomas Haslem.  Does anyone have information on this branch of the Titteringtons?
