Cumberland / Re: Drigg and Irton Cumberland parish registers

Thank you both for your help.  On the marriage bond one thing became apparent (I think) she needed consent to marry in 1731 so she must have been born later than 1710.

Bit annoying that the records are not online.  I looked loads up for Brampton online.

Cumberland / Drigg and Irton Cumberland parish registers

I hope someone can help with this I am posting for a friend. Tamar/Thamar Gaitskel[ (loads of variations in spelling) Recorded on her marriage is at Gosforth 05.06.1731 to Isaac Kitchen (again various spellings)  he was from Irton and she was from Drigg.

I have seen posts that she was born abt 1710 but I have not been able to locate anything for Tamar so hope someone can help as I can only find marriages posted online for Gosforth. Ancestry are saying her parents are Edward and Isabel but has there is no birth how do they know?

Isaac and Tamar Kitchen had 11 children before her demise 12.01.1751 in Irton.  Isaac remarried 26.05.1754 at Irton and had another 3 children.

I have found Isaac's birth 28.11.1708 in Irton father Henry Kitchen and on another child found his mothers name was Jane.  He died 14.04.1746 in Irton.

What I am hoping for is a birth of Tamar 1710 giving her parents names Drigg/Gosforth?

A marriage of Henry Kitchen and Jane prior to 1699 Irton or Gosforth? Jane maybe Walker not sure?

A birth of Henry Kitchen circa 1673

I know it's a lot to ask but any help on any of this would be much appreciated  ??? ???

Hello Rosie thanks for the help I have been given quite a lot of rate books and rent books and also a 1828 court thing for Jas/James Stone.  On the 1832/1833 book it is in his wife Ellen's name.  I have not located their marriage.  I also looked at Ann's children with William Foulds but can't find them on census either.  William died in 1848 but the children should have still been on census with their mother in 1851 but there's nothing.  Can't find any census for Jas/James Stone and Ellen.  The family are a complete mystery.

Rosie on the 1841 census at Hanging Bridge Manchester/Salford. I think that could be her and her age was rounded down to 15 as she was born 1824.  Only 3 of the ones on the census were born in Lancashire I think the others were born in Cheshire.  I have found Mary Gentel/Gentil/Gentle born in Cheshire on a later census and she was widowed and living in Nantwich.  She also records she was a retired domestic servant.  I am beginning to think that on the 1841 they were all in service?

You gave me 2 reference numbers how do I find them on FS it's the only site I have
