Hello Medico; welcome.. Did you take over from Denis Wells?; sadly he is no longer with us; we lost him around 6/7 years ago.
I was in a pub in central London circa 1979, and bumped into Denis at the bar; not having seen him since he left Haydock. We were both at MOD at the time..continued to meet for a weekly beer for a year or so after that. His wife gave me the sad news of his passing.

What are your memories of those days 64-67?

Good Day to you Steve; I recall the blond head (and youthful looks) - the quiet one at 53 SU!! Reg Bamford was in the bunk next door to me - of 53 SU fame - he had many a tale to tell about his nights down at the Legion!

Have you seen the site since you left? both sides of Slag Lane are full of housing; they have traffic signals at the junction with the East Lancs at long last.  Hope this finds you well - what stories can you recall from those days? Best Wishes Ken D

Welcome to the site Colin; I hope it helps you to remember other friends from those days. Im sure you aagree with a lot of us on this site, that Haydock days were very special.

I am still in touch with Tony Campbell by phone; he normally phones me around this time of year.

(I am also known on this site as Vagabond - due to problems with my Geordielad registration - which was only a temp blip.

All the best Ken
