Many thanks for the info. No he was definitley John William wilson my grandfathers brother. I never knew my grandfather but have recollection of my father talking about Uncle John who had a silver tipped cane. Unfortunatley my father has been dead 20years and there are no living relatives to ask. As my father could remember him he must have still been alive around 1910 I imagine so wondered if anyone had any info on  him from his days at the White Swan and where did he go? and when did he die? Was he married and have children? All the usual questions. Kind regards.

Thanks for your help. Found a George Wilson living with a Mary on the 1841 Census at New George St. 1851 Mary still living there but widowed and then oby 1861 census she had remarried to Samuel Earle. Unfortunately the only George I can find around that time had John and Christiana as parents. I'll keep on searching but thanks.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I seem to have taken the family back to the 1700s but having trouble with more recent members of the family. Have comprehensively searched all census up to anf including 1901 plus BMD it maybe that electoral rolls and deaths are whats left.
ISAAC STOKES 8.11.1863 m Mary Perry had several children JAMES HORACE 1885 (have traced him and family to present day). Possibly CHARLES 1888 and GEORGE 1889 both born Staffs. FRANK 1893 Castleford possibly married to an Edith Booth aware of one possible son FRED. ISAAC CLIFFORD 1893 but could have died at a young age. MINNIE 1895 details again of that line to present day, HARRY 1899 Castleford m possibly a Elsie Petit a possible son ARTHUR b 1924 . FRED 1902 and CLIFFORD 1904 both Castleford.
