Cheshire Completed Lookup Requests / Re: 1841/51 CENSUS LOOKUP - BOWLER
« on: Saturday 01 October 05 10:03 BST (UK)  »
ive just found on the cheshire bmd site that anne bowler married john wane in 1844 in cheadle, stockport.  therefore her first husband, the  Bowler, would only be on the 1841 census

Cheshire Completed Lookup Requests / 1841/51 CENSUS LOOKUP - BOWLER
« on: Saturday 01 October 05 09:25 BST (UK)  »
i was wondering if anyone could look up william bowler b1837/38 in norbury/hazel grove/bosden, cheshire, (depending on which later census you look at).  his mother was anne b1801 and he is listed as john wain's stepson on the 1861.  i am particularly interested in his birth fathers name (presumably a Bowler) and any siblings
thanks

hi peter - while ive got your attention ... following my visit to the records office, barring one missing link, i have a family line that now goes back to the 1680's.  my question is, is this the end of the road for me? or are there any other records other than the parish ones that go back further
thanks

ive just been to the chester records office to look at the parish records from the 18th century and got a few names to add to my tree and i was just wondering if anyone could look up any Bowler s who were resident in marple, cheshire in 1841.
in particular i'm interested in jane who would be about 70, mary 45, martha 44, james 43 and william 39
thank you

Lancashire Lookup Requests / Re: Oswaldtwistle - Bowler Family

thanks alli
as well as finding out charles' birthplace i also have a new name, ellen, to add to my tree.  as her surname is bowler i would guess that she is the daughter of joseph or perhaps an illegitimate daughter of jane, emma or sarah - i dont know what the procedure was for giving surnames to illegitimate children.
charles did also have an older son , also charles, so maybe she is one of his but for some reason is not living with him?

One Name Studies: A to G / Re: Bowler family 1700's Marple, Cheshire

hi david
ive seen your website - i was hoping to be able to link into your tree somehow - but as you say - most of them are a bit further down - maybe my branch moved north a bit - i did find some bowler records from the early/mid 1700's in the area of marple so i think i'll try to get a link to them 1st.
by the way, you wouldnt happen to know if the chester records office holds data from the very east of the county do you? - im going there to have a look, probably next week.

hi peter
ive just realised - if you are related to margaret bennett b1803 in hazle grove, cheshire that would make us very distant cousins and you could add my tree to yours!
