Dear Tim Blyth,

Please let me know if you made progress in translating your grandfather's diary with reference to the Jeffreys Family.  Thank you very much.

Hello Roger, and yes I created the jeffreys family.blogspot.com site. Thanks for the comments. I spent a lot of time on Lewis of Pant Hywel and Tirpaum in trying to make the connections to Daniel Thomas and Martha (Lewis) Thomas.  Margaret and Dan Thomas who occupy Llywnyfron told me "their grandmother was a Jeffreys." but I've never figured this out or if it's true.  Their family rented Llwynyfron from my great grandfather before purchasing it about 1886. My great grandpa had lost his first wife, and was re-marrying a young girl half his age. She wanted a grand estate so he sold Llwynyfron to the Thomas family and purchased Cynghordy Hall near Llandovery. I was fascinated with Llwynyfron. It was so charming and appeared completely unchanged since the 18th century. American troops had encamped there during WWII. When they came back decades later, they said the house had not changed.
I was going to attach some photos of Lewis monuments but the site here won't let me.  If you know if there's a connection please let me know. Thank you. Bradley Jeffreys, Dallas, Texas

I worked on this family a handful of years ago.  I don't have my notes handy now, but was not able to make all of the connections I was hoping for.
There are several markers in the cemetery at Llanddeusant Parish church - I have some photos I'm willing to send you.  One of the descendants of LEWIS of Panthowel line married into my family (Jeffreys) living at Llwynyfron, Llanddeusant since the 1700s - and still living there today.
An old gentleman, David "Dai" Lewis, at Llangadog, helped me a bit as this was his line, also.  He gave me a couple of old Victorian photographs on one of my visits.

What was the name of your ancestor who worked at Frankton Grange?

The book is "Some Memoirs of Nicholas Robinson 1769-1854 and His Family
By his Grandson Nicholas Robinson" London, 1915.

I had relatives there in the latter 18th C and early 19th C - THE ROBINSONS.  I know I have a photo or two, and a book about the family which describes the house and etc.

This is also a post from Brad Jeffreys - would love to hear from anyone else with information about the Jeffreys Family from Cynghordy or Llandovery or Brecon.  Thank you!

Hi Tim,
I am curious if the diary you mention containing the Jeffreys Family is my family.  My great grandparents owned Cynghordy Hall, and my grandfather spent his youth there.  Great Grandpa is buried at St. Mary's Church at Cynghordy (photo attached).
