Charles born 1907 is my uncle. Elizabeth Williams was my grandmother. My name is Mervyn Hathaway (Father Thomas, born in Blaina in 1922 and one of Charles' many brothers) and I have just started on this. The assumption re Sarah Morse I believe to be wrong because it's the same alley I went up. On the 1881 census Charles (the senior) is shown to be born in Warmley in Gloucester and circa 1849 - He married Harriet (nee Stone) after moving to Blaina, whilst Charles Morse Hathaway is still showing up on censuses in the Bristol area!. Check out the user HLW on this forum who has done some good work on this. (I found that particular posting by searching 'Hathaway Siston'). For info, the 1881 census extract is as follows:

Hi - So glad I found this!
My family descend from Hanah's son Charles. 1871 finds him married and living in Blaina South Wales. 1891 finds him still in Blaina with two sons, and still working as a miner.
His son Charles, born 1882, is my grandfather. My father Thomas Charles was born in 1922 and moved to Crowborough in East Sussex, England where I (Mervyn) am the youngest of his three sons born in 1953.
I have attached the 1871 and 1891 census extracts in the hope they are some interest to anyone's researches.
