Lancashire / Cross family in Lancashire

Hi everyone
I have traced my Cross family on my dad's side back to Henry Cross (my great-great-great grandfather), born in Pilling in Lancashire in around 1801. I've also recently found out about the Crosse/Cross family who apparently came from Lathom originally and owned a lot of land in Liverpool and Lancashire until at least the early 1700s, and who I've traced back to around 1200.
Does anyone know if all the Crosses coming from Lancashire are related to this Cross family somewhere along the line? I'd love to prove some kind of link to them, but I'm not sure how to go about doing it. Any advice/info would be great. Cheers!
