Hello Maria...the Lonergan I know of in my research is called John Lonergan, and I believe he may have been from Cahir, as most of the info, I have retrieved is from the area of Cahir and Bansha, I think, not certain though, that this would be a distance of five mile apart.
John Lonergan was a wittness to the Marriage of Richard Fahey/Bridget Kennedy in 1864 in the townland of Cahirabby, the lady wittness was a Mary O'Donnell.I am not sure if Mary was still single at this time, or whether she was married to John Lonergan, because from what I can gather, that even if a woman(wittness) was married at the time, she would give her maiden name in, this I believe was to determine the right person, as so many names were the same.

I believe also, that this John Lonergan was somehow related, although I have not connected it yet.

best wishes Sheila

Mags just as a matter of interest. The Fahey family I am looking for, had connections to Fitzgerald in this way.

There was a Richard Fahey  from Ballymorris Bansha with children Richard,Daniel,Patrick,Cathrine and Mary(could be more?) Anyway Danneil Fahey married Ellen Murnane of Cappauniac  they had a Richard Fahey,Thomas, and Mary(only known ones so far)
Mary Fahey married a Pierce Fitzgerald, and although this is not my direct line I know a lady in USA who is a decendant.

My line  I believe comes from Richard Fahey(2) son of the first Richard I have mentioned and brother to Daniel. This Richard  married a Bridget Kennedy, and my task is to find out if their son John is my gt grandfather.I know for sure, and have certs to prove, that other children of this couple are aunts  to my grandmothers, but I am currently in the process of trying to find out who this John married, and if he had a daughter Ellen born 1886.

My grandmother Ellen married a James Cunningham from Galbally, so the geography is similar, and maybe these people were all related.

The family I have noted above are living in Langsdale Street Everton in 1891 minus son John.
I was wondering if the Clare St Fahey, were the ones from Langsdale St, what do you have for Langsdale please?
Hi Allan...this is very possible  that they lived in this area, because my grandparents lived in Copperas Hill just after they got married, my mum was born there, and this doesnt look far from those places. Thanks Alan I will see if I can get any church info from around those parts. Sheila
