It is now 10 years since I posted a note regarding Cyril and Leslie Fowke. I can't believe that it is that long since I posted here! Anyway, I have since traced and connected these two Fowke individuals to my Family tree, along with many other Fowke families of that era. Contact me if you want further information a

I have some further data about the connections of Cyril and Leslie Fowke in my own database, although I do not have them connected directly to my own Tree. Contact me at  *  as the information is a little lengthy to type out here. We may be able to exchange even further information as I do also have a sizable Tree, together with a database and associated images, of Fowke individuals in Canada.

Hi, Guys,

Take care with the data you have obtained regarding James Fowke (Fowkes), and his arrival in Virginia about 1650. The data comes primarily from a publication published in 1963 by Herbert C Fooks (USA) and whilst I have also used the data in my records (Fowke Family Tree) the proof that he is, in fact, a son of Roger Fowke and Sybil Chelsham of Brewood, Staffordshire, England, is still to be formerly located. In other words, tag it as 'possible' or even 'likely' until further acceptable proof comes to light.

England / FOWKE Surname, variations and connections
« on: Tuesday 26 October 10 05:58 BST (UK)  »
Greetings to all. I have been 'away' from Forums for some time but am keen to continue my one-name study which I commenced more than 25 years ago.

I am currently seeking correspondents researching the FOWKE surname in all UK Counties. I have a wealth of information to share but am always seeking new family lines to connect to the Worldwide FOWKE Family Tree.

The early history of FOWKE families, particularly from Derbyshire and Staffordshire, but not exclusively, have fascinated me for almost 3 decades and I would like to know more of those families, particularly from the 1700's to early 1900's.

Very soon I will post some specific questions relating to those families but in the meantime I would like to hear from you, and about your FOWKE research, through this post.
