Hi Heather,
Looks like Shaza hasn't replied yet,so I'll add my two cents.I am related to Annie (Nance),the person in your tree. My Grandfather William Frank Nebbs b.1885 was a Brother to Thomas William Nebbs b.1863.
Shaza and I have exchanged lots of info offline, which explains why there is not much accurate info on this forum.
You will have to write a few postings here to be allowed to "pm" me but suffice it to say I am a cousin to the Radfords.

Shaza,
I've just re-read your posting. It looks like you are saying that Thomas William and Margaret emmigrated to Canada.I've always thought it was their son Thomas Alexander and a sister who emmigrated. We'll have to clear this up!

Sorry Shaza, I was busy.
Although I am not descended from either of your Toms,I have done a bit of research on them. I would love to talk with you privately but this will have to do until I've passed the security scrutiny!
Thomas Alexander volunteered to serve Canada in 1915. He listed Thomas W Nebbs of Royal Naval Barracks,Sheerness,Kent,as his next of Kin.
Thomas Alexander married Mabel Besant in 1927 in Winnipeg,Manitoba. They had a son Thomas Allan .I don't know what happened to the sister who emmigrated with Thomas.
You say that your Mother "was born there" i.e.Canada.Does this mean that your Mother moved to the UK at some point in her life?
I doubt if there are any Nebbs in Scotland now.Thomas W was only there for a while. He did visit his son in Canada but strangely left his wife Margaret at home.
Thomas W did show up in some Newspaper articles in Scotland. He was teaching seamanship to a newly-formed group of sea cadets.

Talk to you soon,

Cheezer

Hi Shaza,
Yes the name Nebbs does indeed exist. Thomas William Nebbs was a brother to my grandfather William Frank Nebbs. They were the sons of Thomas Nebbs b.1835, Aylesford,Kent and Rebecca Hollands b.1842 Maidstone,Kent. Thomas and Rebecca are buried in Aylesford,Kent.
Thomas William Nebbs' son, Thomas Alexander Nebbs, emigrated to Canada and has descendents there.
I'm new to Rootschat (I signed up to answer your query) so I don't know if we can talk privately somehow. I hope so.
