Let's just stick to the parish records and not let this get complicated!

Honestly, I know everything about them already, and if you don't have access to the Little Clacton or Thorpe le Soken PRs then I am afraid that you really cannot help me, despite your best intentions. I only want to know where he was baptised.

Yes, don't worry, I know all that :-)

Just want to know which font they dipped his head in.

No, you are right, I'd remembered it wrong! It was April.

However, the fact remains that I am still desperate to learn if he was baptised in either Little Clacton or Thorpe le Soken - or, of course, possibly neither! I'd expect it to be some time in May or June if he was.

Yes, that's right, born in March so the birth was registered in the June quarter - March 30th, I believe!

I'd be very grateful if anyone could do a Parish Records look up for a baptism of Frederick Reginald SEDGWICK for me. He was born in March 1909 in either Little Clacton (1911 census) or neighbouring Thorpe le Soken (family tradition). Thank you.

Cambridgeshire Lookup Requests / Re: REYNOLDS West Wratting or Hildersham 1905-1915

Excellent - that tells me much of what I need to know! I think this is a case where my great-grandparents gave the name of the nearest village, even though they were actually in a different parish.

I must say I feel a slight tinge of disappointment, as I was in Hildersham church last Saturday and it really is rather lovely :-)

Sorry to be a pain, but at this stage I really am only interested in REYNOLDS events 1905-1915 in the West Wratting or Hildersham PRs. Most other ground is already covered.

Thanks for the input.

I know the family well, and know them well at 1911. The marriage was at Dry Drayton, and Lydia was baptised at Dry Drayton. The Dry Drayton registers say she was born at Hildersham. But was she born at Valley Farm, where the family were living in 1911,  or had they moved to Hildersham? She had several brothers and sisters, and I am hoping the registers might indicate if the family lived at Valley Farm throughout the 1905-1915 period, or if there were two addresses, Valley Farm and one in Hildersham.

Prior to 1905, the family were in Dry Drayton, where my grandmother was born. In 1915 they moved into the city of Cambridge.
