Have just found this site and am having slight trouble negotiating it! Am very excited with all this info about my great great grandmother Maria Ellis nee Jones. I'm descended through her sixth child, Thomas who married an Elizabeth Jones! Their fourth child, John Noel is my Taid (Grandfather) He also married a Jones! Kate Jones and my Father, Arthur is their second son. I know a bit about Thomas as my Dad remembered him. What is your relationship? Would love to hear from you!

Dear Joyce,
I am very excited to have found a relation.Maria Ellis was my great great grandmother. Isn't she amazing! I spent ages getting travel sickness looking through the microfiches in Hawarden Record office and found her marriage certificate and some of the childrens' birth records. I tried to find Tir Gwyn in Cwm, but it's gone. Pen y Mynedd is still there. I am descended from her sixth child, Thomas, who married an Elizabeth Jones. They had seven children, all with the same names as Maria's, John, Robert, Thomas, Maria, Joseph, Margaret and William. My grandfather was their fourth child, John Noel and my father, the second child, Arthur.
Maria"s last child was a daughter called Mary, born in 1858. Two of them born after George died. Baby George's birth record says he's illegitimate, but that's probably because the father was dead. Am so excited to discover the names of Maria's parents. I was only talking about her on BBC Radio Wales on Friday.
I'd be so pleased to hear back from you.
Sorry - it's late and am a bit incoherent with excitement at finding out more about this remarkable woman
