JESSIE JACKSON, (daughter of merchant ABRAM JACKSON of Girvan) married in 1879 in Grenada, West-Indies a
JOHN MCNEILLY (son of WILLIAM MCNEILLY of Glasgow and/or Ayr.)
We are looking for info on Abram Jackson & family and William McNeilly & family.
The above mentioned John McNeilly, together with his brother Alexander “Sandy” McNeilly went to Grenada around 1875 as representatives of Thomson Hankey and Company of London. Both bros were born around 1850.
About Jessie Jackson, we know the following:
Before moving to Grenada in 1879, Jessie was from Old Dailly, Ayrshire (near Girvan) and was born in Girvan Way, Croshill. She was an evangelist with a preacher named Powell in Glasgow. She may have worked in a baker's shop at Charing Cross. She had a brother Abraham, a brother Jim, and a sister.
One of John McNeilly's granddaughters RUTH LEEDHAM, moved back to Scotland and married a mister MCMILLAN. This McMillan family, related to all of the above, is reportedly still living in the Glasgow area.
