Hi Pargy,

Its been a while since i logged on but i think i may have found how we are distantly related. Eugenio Cerrone was my GG Grandfathers Cousin, He lived at 1 Church road, Catshill, Bromsgrove. He married Kate Harbour in 1917. I am not sure at this stage whether he had any children, and I wondered if you may have any information on his family or descendants of his family.

Hope you can help.

Hi Pargy,

Sorry it took so long to come back to you. I have come across your family quite a bit through my research, and have always wondered whether Antonio Cerrone was the brother or my GGrandfather Pasquale. Do you know when he came to the UK and who with. I can not find out anything about Pasquale, when he came over, who with and what he did and where he lived up until he married his wife Concetta. If they are related I do have quite a bit of information about the Cerrone;s, as I used an Italian researcher some time back, who was able to retrieve some information from the records in Sora. I also looked into the house where the Cerrone family were from, which is no longer standing, as It was badly destroyed after the earthquake in the early 1900's.

Also have you ever looked at the book "Bella Brum" as I am sure it refer's to the Mezzone family.

Sorry I can't tell you more really.

Oh! got excited then for a second, never mind. If you can find out her mothers name I may be able to see if any relation to my tree, we may be a generation out from each other.

If you have a little money to spend on this, I have used an excellent italian researcher who has obtained a register of my family from Sora, and all the brothers, sisters and mother and fathers etc. So if you are interested let me know and I can put you in contact with her. She actually lives in Sora, so has access to a lot of the records. She is very reasonable!

Keep in touch though!!

Hi Bethany,

Wow! how exciting. I have been doing my family tree for ages and you are the first to contact me on the Cerrone side.
So do you know how we are related exactly?

Not sure if this Concetta went to the states I'm afraid. I can tell you she was originally from Sora, born in 1883. Father was Giovanni Castelluci, mother was Carmina Polsinelli. Concetta came to uk, but not sure of the exact year, was late 1800's I think! She married my gg grandfather Pasquale Cerrone in 1900 in Birmingham UK. They had four sons, Peter, Mark (Emiddio), John (genoni) and Anthony. They lived in Alcester, warwickshire until Pasquale died in 1918, and then she re-married a William Baylis in 1919 and died in 1921.

Is this the right Concetta?

Right, I went to Alcester cemetary and have found Elizabeth Anthony's wife along side my ggrandfather. So it is just the others i need to find, I have managed to get electoral roll records aswell  up until about 1955 so hopefully I can go to the local cemeteries and find other relatives in Birmingham.

Thank you for that information, I am looking for Cerrone's.
Anthony Cerrone who was born 1903 died 1958 & his wife Elizabeth born 1905 Died1989.
Mark Cerrone born 1905 died 1989
John Cerrone born 1911 died 1964

Of course the later deaths of Elizabeth and Mark may have been cremations according to my family, or Elizabeth may have re-married I am not sure.

I will have a look at that site

Ps - Do you know a lot about Italian history in Birmingham? If so I may have some further questions you may be able to help me with.

Thank You

Thanks for the website , but this is more Warwickshire than Birmingham, but interesting as I do have relatives in Alcester, Warwickshire also.

Unfortunately I do not know where they lived in Birmingham, as there seems to be no record of the them on the 1911 Census. i know my own family lived in Alcester, and they are listed but not my other relatives.  They came over from Italy and from what I can gather the majority of them would have settled in the Italian Quarter in Birmingham and not all of the people residing in these houses took part in the Census., From there I am unsure of where they were living until the later census information becomes available.
