Europe / Germany: Behnken, Wienken, Adam and Vogelsang families of Bremen
« on: Tuesday 19 March 13 16:08 GMT (UK)  »
Looking for anyone researching or having information about Jürgen Wienken (b.about 1760) who married Gesche Vogelsang (possibly in Bremen. They had a daughter, Rebecka, who married Johann Wilhelm Behnken in Bremen, Schleswig-Holstein on the 16 Nov 1817. NOTE: I have the parish record for the marriage of Johann to Rebecka, and also their baptisms, but would like similar for Rebecka's parents.

Likewise I am searching for parish register records foor the marriage and baptism of Johann's parents, who were Johan Behnken and Margarethe Elizabeth Adam.

Any further information about this family welcomed.
thanks in advance

Europe / Germany: searching for baptism of Herman Christian Meyer
« on: Monday 18 March 13 12:33 GMT (UK)  »
I am trying to track down the baptism record for Herman Christian Meyer, born about 1823 in, I think, the town of Falkenhagen, in Seegefeld, Brandenburg, Germany. His father was Petor Friedrich Meyer, an architect, and his mother may well have been Anna Louise Ribbitz though not certain of this. Any assistance very welcome.

Is there anyone in Germany who might be able to help me track down the birth/baptism record of my gt gt grandfather, Hermann Christian MEYER. He was born around 1823 and his father was Petor Freidrich Meyer (occupation: architect). Not sure about mother but could be Anna Louise Ribbitz.
Any help at all much appreciated.

Europe / Bremen: Gesina Bobach (nee Behnken)
« on: Wednesday 31 October 12 17:55 GMT (UK)  »
I am trying to find information on Gesina Behnken, who married Reinhard Bobach. I have no idea when this marriage took place, or exactly where but it might have been in Bremen.

I have Gesina's parents as Johann Wilhelm Behnken and Rebecka Wienken and a marriage for them of 14 Nov 1817. I need to confirm this marriage took place in Bremen, and to confirm both parents birth date. I have 02 Aug 1792, Bremen for the father and Abt. 1794 for Rebecka, possibly in Bremen.

Any help with these people much appreciated.

Well, I was hoping firstly to determine the name of his wife and when they were married. I was also hoping to learn more about his time as a Merchant with the Merchant Taylor Company.

Thankyou for those links. I shall give them a look. Your last post referring to Genforum is actually another posting by myself looking for the same information.

Thanks again for your response

Derbyshire Lookup Requests / Amor Oxley 1510 - 1587
« on: Friday 12 October 12 13:18 BST (UK)  »
Is anyone researching Amor Oxley (born about 1510, Wingfield Manor, Derbyshire, and died 1587)? He was a Merchant of the notable Merchant Taylor Company, however I am not sure whether the one in London or York, the latter would perhaps seem more likely.
His grandson was the Rev.Charles OXLEY BA, MA (born abt 1585, Morpeth Northumberland) and became Vicar of Chillingham 1616 a position he held up to his death in 1636
He obtained his degrees at Christ's College Cambridge.

Europe / Spindler family name, Poland
« on: Saturday 06 October 12 18:51 BST (UK)  »
I am trying to learn who the parents might have been for Benno Spindler who was born in Ustrzyki Dolne, Podkarpackie, Poland on 18 Aug.1895.
He met Rosa Lauber (born 16 Apr 1893 Chrzanow, Dolnoslaskie, Poland) and they were married on 29 Dec 1919 in Eger, Hungary.
Sometime afterwards they moved to Füerth, in Germany. Benno died of natural causes on17 Feb 1932 in Füerth, but his wife committed suicide on 25 Nov 1941 at her home at No.3 Hindenburgstrasse Füerth just a day or two before he Nazis were coming to take her away.
Rosa's parents, I think were Shalom LAUBER and Taube ROSENBAUM. I have no information on these people and have no knowledge on their origins.
Any help with these people would be much appreciated
