Wicklow / Re: Ost family in 1760s Wicklow
« on: Wednesday 12 June 13 01:13 BST (UK)  »
I have just found out that my grandmother's mother was Hannah Ost, father John Ost. She married Edward Walker in Bray 13/11/1860. She had a brother John.
Could this be the same family? They are from the Wicklow area.

My maiden name was Langrell. My father's family was from Wicklow. He told us that the family had been Huguenots, lace makers, and went to Ireland in the time of William of Orange. He used to tell us stories of people/families being piked? in the past. Unfortunately The information was never written down. My grandmother was a Walker with a similar history but I haven't found any information on them.

Does anyone have any information on Margaret Walker's family who married Isaac Langrell in Wicklow approx 1888 born 1866? There was a Jack Walker died in 1964 who had daughters Emily and Queenie. He may have been her nephew.

I am a descendant of the Langrell's in Wicklow. Ned, Bill and Mag were my Uncles and Aunt. My father Joe was the 7th son Of Isaac followed by Aunt Mag as the only daughter. The house in Market Square was the family home. Joe and James were the only ones who had children.
