I have not followed the Wilsons in Ballyeaston after Archibald Wilson died in 1795.  He had only sisters, and I was told by Jim Wilson, who wrote a book about the Ballyeaston First Presbyterian Church, that there is a preponderance of the name Wilson there!  Even if I found female Wilsons, which is extraordinarily difficult, I think (unless I found a treasure-trove of marriage records), I wouldn't know how to know for sure which ones were mine.   :-\

Ballytober is a townland in Cairncastle (or Carncastle) Parish, which is about 3 miles up the coast from Larne.  It is east of Kilwaughter Parish, with Killyglen in between Kilwaughter and Cairncastle.

If you know the topography, the Sallagh Braes are in Cairncastle Parish, near Ballytober.

Is there someone who has access to a copy of the 1669 Hearth Roll for Kilwaughter Parish (or any of the early Hearth Rolls).  I need a look-up for a James GLASGOW.

There is a book called His House on the Hill, A History of First Ballyeaston Presbyterian Church 1676 - 2004 by Jim Wilson, B.A.

There is a list of members from 1813 in the back of the book, and on page 281 I find two Erskine families listed in succession, of Donomoy:

I was just in Ballyeaston last week, where I visited the Old Rashee Cemetery near the Four Corners pub, and I remember seeing Erskines there.  The Old Rashee Cemetery is very near to, but not part of, the new Rashee Cemetery.

Looking for Archibald WILSON of Ballyeaston, Ballycor Parish, who also owned land in Ballykeel, Kilwaughter Parish.

Archibald WILSON (WILLSON) died "in Ireland" on an unknown date in 1792*.  Presumably he lived in Ballyeaston but also owned land in Ballykeel townland in Kilwaughter Parish. 

Archibald WILSON left no descendants;  he had six sisters:  Jane, Margarett, Rachel, Anne, Elizabeth, and Susanna, his only heirs and next of kin.

One of the sisters, Rachel WILSON, married Robert GLASGOW, who leased Ballykeel lands, 1738, in Kilwaughter Parish.

Robert and Rachel had known children, a son and a daughter, James GLASGOW and Ann GLASGOW.  James GLASGOW was born in 1734.  He married his first cousin, Mary Crozier? (good evidence for Crozier, no proof), niece of his mother, Rachel WILSON.

Ann GLASGOW intermarried with HUGH SHANNON of Ballykeel in Kilwaughter Parish.  There is a will for him dated 1776.  Their children were:  Robert SHANNON, Glasgow SHANNON, Archibald SHANNON, James SHANNON, and Rachel SHANNON.

Robert SHANNON and Glasgow SHANNON emigrated to Canada during the potato famine years in the mid-19th century.  I have found them in Ballytober, Carncastle prior to that.

Since originally posting this message, I have located a will abstract for an Archibald Wilson of County Antrim, whose will was granted in Prerogative Court on 31 August 1795.  Address of Archibald Wilson was Tildarg.  Tildarg is located very near Ballyeaston and Ballykeel, the other addresses we have of record in connection with Archibald Wilson.
