Is it possible for someone to check a marriage between Mark Wells and Elizabeth Dinnacomb? believed to have taken place on 27 May 1822 at St mary's Church, Leicester

Graveyards and Gravestones / Re: Recording of burial place in a churchyard

Many thanks Wiiliamtov for your interesting comments.
We are probably lucky that we have been able to find "books" filled in by vicars/churchwardens from 1867 showing Number of grave, depth of grave, Name, age, date of death, sectionof burial ground. This together with a plan of that section of the burial ground. Surviving graves haves allowed us to verify that the information is accurate.
The next two extensions to the churchyard followed a similar pattern together with a plan.
The only part of the churchyard we do not have plans for, or indication where bodies are buried, is for pre-1867. Our only guide is the few memorial stones that are still standing.
Our church parish records follow the same as yours. Notebooks lined by the vicar and then standard foolscap and A4 documents.

Thanks again, Durham

Graveyards and Gravestones / Recording of burial place in a churchyard

Does anyone know when it became necessary to record the actual burial space on Church of England churchyard documentation. In a church I am looking at I can find burials recorded from 1558 but a churchyard plan with space noted in register only from 1867. Is this usual?

Anyone know where Grundon Street, Leicester was in 1892. Have a marriage certificate of ancestors stating that they were both living at 10 Grundon Street, Leicester (Parish of St Leonards).
Thanks

I had previously put on Leicester Look Up board. Thought I would try the general board.
I have found that the adjacent streets are Victoria Street and Lower Hill Street and "The Painters Arms" public house and these are all shown on the 1877 Map of Leicester.
Thanks to keyboard86 for the prompt.

Had a relative lodging there in 1871 census. Also lived in Grosvenor Street.
