Brian,
I think you have all the information on the Dowsings of Bredfield that I had (more in fact) but I was struck by your mention of my great grandfather William Rogers Dowsing and his daughter Ethel Elvina Dowsing who was your grandmother. She is my grandmother too, but I thought I knew all her children (my aunties and uncles) and their children....I never heard of a Brian being mentioned.
She had five children that I know of. Dorothy (who I believe was illegitimate) then Violet, Phyllis (my mother), Albert, and their was another brother Bill (who may have been the eldest child) who died in his early teens from food poisoning.
I'm wondering if my grandmother Ethel had a couple of families! Can you enlighten me?
I have not been able to find anything about William Rogers Dowsings death. Anyone have any ideas.
