I'm with you on this, Zaphod!

I used to perform the software releases at some of my companies.

Unit Testing.
Systems Testing.
Regression Testing.
Release Testing, followed by a rollback if required.

Quite often, Release Dates are set by Senior Management who have absolutely no idea!
The promised date has to be met - no matter what.

A couple of possibilities from FreeBMD:

December qtr 1908
Pewsey Registration District     vol 5a, page 81
Hilliard, Mary Ann      age 51

September qtr 1912
Lambeth Registration District     vol 1d, page 283
Hilliard, Mary     age 56

Do you have Mary on the 1901 or 1911 census?
Or on a Passenger List?

Being "of this parish" simply means that's where they were living when the banns were called, or licence granted.

It doesn't mean that's where they were born.

Needs a Dutch or Afrikaans speaker to properly translate, but first sentence:

It is perhaps not sufficiently known that some time ago a useful and quite laborious work was begun by one of our diligent compatriots.

Het Volksblad (English: People's Journal) was an Afrikaans-language daily newspaper published in Bloemfontein, South Africa, and distributed in the Free State and Northern Cape provinces, where it was the largest Afrikaans daily. It was South Africa's oldest Afrikaans newspaper.

I have 16 trees on Ancestry, and haven't had a subscription since 2014!

I can view and edit all the people in all of the trees.
I just can't add Ancestry-derived data or images.
