Yhout,

I have no personal interest in the Tyson or Southward families, or indeed in any Cumberland family. My interest centres on the Family & Local histories of the Wasdale & Eskdale valleys and the immediate surrounding area.

Yhout,

Thank you for your comments especially the fact that the family left Egremont for pastures new.

I cannot find a William Tyson that would fit in with a birth year of 1752 or thereabouts either in Egremont or the surrounding area. Researching Tyson in West Cumberland is a thankless task because of the number of Tyson families through out the area.

I can add the the son Richard was a Spirit Merchant in Egremont and had a wife named Ann.

For those who commented on registers and BT's then at this time there are only BT's available as there is a Register missing for Egremont - so no Bapts, Mars or burials except from the BT's

Hi,

This is your family but the burial record for William & Dorothy is a bit of a mystery. Why do you connect them with Gosforth ?

16.09.1782   Hannah   William & Dorothy         Bapt   Egremont
27.01.1783   Ann   William & Dorothy                 Bapt   Egremont
24.07.1784   John   William & Dorothy                 Bapt   Egremont

25.12.1783   Ann   dau.of William          aged   1           Burs   Egremont
23.01.1784   Hannah   dau.of William      4           Burs   Egremont
26.05.1786   William   son of William      6           Burs   Egremont

Hope this helps, Nev.

Hi Ian,

Fine - Hunter Ritson was a member of a fascinating family from Wasdalehead in Cumberland, but he was the only one to be married three times ?

Ian,

Have you got all the info that you need concerning Hunter Ritson 1850-1922 that was exercising your interest a few years back ?

Cumberland / Re: Henry Tyson and Margaret Porter

Hi,

I realise that this is a little late but the William Tyson who died in Netherwasdale in 1797 was a member of the Greendale family and he married Jane Bateman in 1757 at NW.

If anyone is interested in the parents - Henry Tyson & Margaret Porter - then I can help.

Hi,

I would assume that by now you are aware that Edward & Margaret had more children at Church style in Gosforth ?

Cumberland / Re: Rudd family!
« on: Friday 01 October 10 16:53 BST (UK)  »

Hi,

The Rudd children mentioned in this post were born at Whole house in the Hensingham chapelry of the Parish of St.Bees.

It would appear that William & Mary moved on to Haile [1823] and then Arlecdon - Ratten row [1824 - 1828] where they seem to have had more children.

It would also seem that William was not born in the immediate surrounding areas.
