Good morning Kiltaglassan,

I've had a quick look at the links and you're absolutely correct, a lot of Shasbys !

The most recent link (I think) is indeed the marriage of my 4X great grandparents (John (Jno) and Margaret.

Much appreciated, enjoy the weekend, Dan

Thank you Kiltaglassan, I appreciate the links 🙏 I hope to be online tomorrow so will have a look then.
I have seen a few St Canices church records but most are so difficult to read, either the quality of the scan or the handwriting I guess, maybe both 🤔
Cheers, Dan

Kilkenny / Still looking !
« on: Tuesday 18 November 25 16:27 GMT (UK)  »
Good afternoon all,
I'm back looking for any info on Shasby in Kilkenny (1700's) if it exists ?
I have my 3 X Great grandparents as Michael Shasby (b1821-1878 Kilkenny) and Judith Scot (b 1825 Cork) and most descendants to me.
I have possible ancestry as :
Father : John (b1797 Kilkenny)(RC)
Mother : Margaret Wall
Marriage on 6th Feb 1814 at StCanices  in Kilkenny City
Johns parents possibly :
Michael Shasby and Nelly Donnel
Michael potentially born to :
Michael Shasby / Chasby and Bridget Brown
I fully appreciate that records from this time period are at best scarce nut if anyone is able to assist I would be very appreciative.
Have a good afternoon all, [Dan]

Slight (possible) update on the Shasby lineage. I am researching my Shasby lineage and have confirmed back to John Shasby (1797 Kilkenny) M Margaret Wall on 6 Feb 1814 @ St. Canice's, Kilkenny City.
I now have record of Michael Shasby / Chasby (C1775?) M Nelly Donnel, daughter Mary Shasby. I believe Michael and Nelly to be Johns parents also.
I have also found record of Michael Shasby / Chasby M Bridget Brown (C1750?) whom I believe are Michaels parents.
The lineage back from John (1797) is at this stage speculative due primarily to the scarcity and legibility of parish records.
If anyone is able to shed any light or clarity on the Shasby (Chasby) lineage during this era, please let me know.
Thank you for reading.

Cork / Re: Falvey/Lundrigan

Hello Djunna,
I have been looking at the Falvey name for quite a while now and I have see the names that you mention, I have been told more than once that the name Falvey is/was commonly found in Cork.
I have my Falvey lineage (although incomplete) back to the 1700's.
My tree is on Ancestry and MyHeritage so feel free to look.
I know also that a relative in Australia has the Falvey tree online, perhaps worth a google ?
Good luck, Dan
