Lancashire Completed Lookup Requests / edward & margaret atherton m1873.
« on: Tuesday 15 March 11 12:53 GMT (UK)  »
Can anyone help me solve this puzzle?
Edward and Margaret Atherton are in Hindley Green on the 1881 census as ages 23 and 25 with two children.
It states Edwards as 23 born 1857 in Hindley Green. His son Thomas age 7, meaning Ewd age would have been 16 when Thos was born .
I have found the marriage of Edward Atherton(age 20) and Margaret Wynn (age 22) 1873, All Saints,Wigan, both fathers are deceased.
Margarets age seems correct in the 1881 census but
I cannot find Edwards birth record. I am looking in Hindley and Wigan.
Margaret has disappeared in the 1891 census think she died?
The family are dispersed I think they are living in Parr I have yet to be certain?
Any help greatfully received  ::)

Can anyone help me to find the deaths of Albert Bridge (born 1884 Warrington),
and Mary Bridge (nee Tracey, born 1881 Lathom).Lived in Wigan.

I cannot find their burial records and the place they were buried!!!!
I can't find them in LancashireBMD(deaths) records!!

I am wondering if maybe Wigan records are not given until a certain time has elapsed?

If anyone could point me in the right direction  :)

Thanks all for the information. You have given me plenty to go on.
I thought young Emily must have been born at Emilys parents,as many women did have mother around  in those days.
   Thanks again ;D

Thanks  I have the 1901 census.
But in your post I have noticed that Emily (Junior) was born in Wells, maybe I need to search there for the Stephens /Gavaghan family.
Obviously they were there at some point?
Emily Stephens was born in Woolstone ,Berks 1873.
Father, William born abt 1843 West Shefford,Berks, his occupation was a shepherd.
 Mother,Mary  A Stephens born abt 1850 Uffington,Berks.
They had a niece(Georgina Clark 11) staying with them in the 1881 census?
I am really trying to find the whereabouts of Emily in 1891?When she pops up in 1901 census she is married with no occupation, Wife!

Help needed to find out how and where John Gavaghan(Garraghan) met Martha
Emily Stephens(Stevens).
Emily was born in Berkshire. Have her  in the 1881 census missing in the 1891census , Wigan in the 1901 census.
Ideas where she could have been greatfully accepted.
