I have not used ancestry site for 6mths and thought I must have misssed an upgrade or something. I put in details and end up with things that have no bearing to what I am searching for. I have cancelled my subscription as I do not like any of the new formats.

I tried to get on the site for 35 mins and then got message that maintenance work was being carried out. Tried again and it had crashed. Gave up after 4th attempt.  Happy new year to you all xx

just read your post. two of my friends have had trouble with facebook. one of them had same problem as yourself other one had her account hacked. in both cases they emailed facebook who helped them sort it all out. i pesonally dont put anydetails on the site as i am worried who can get to them

george thorp wed frances rhodes 5/7/1831. but george thorp wed jane walker 30/9/1833 either 2 georges in snaith at that time or it same man whose first wife may have died? joseph thorp born 1834 wed mary hopkins 1853 and he died castleford 1908. dont know if any of this helps

george thorpe 2/4/1809 snaith. son of joseph thorp and elizabeth pilkington. wed frances rhodes 1831 snaith. died 1881. is this any use

re ss bancoora im sure there is an island named after the vessel which ran aground but my geography is not very good.

have you tried ss bancoora as the ships name. i think it ran aground sometime in the late 1800, s but i am not sure.
