Any luck in locating a copy of the journal?  I think we may be tracking some of the same Jervises.  I believe that Eleanor Jervis, b. 1670 died in Wistaston in 1770, buried 6/28/1770 under the name Mrs. Bayley and her age is given as 100.  In 1694 Elizabeth and James Bayly had a daughter, christened in Wistaston on 7/24/1694. Sources are: Cheshire Parish Registers 1538-2000 and Cheshire Bishop's Transcripts 1598-1900 respectively.  James Bailey dies in Wistaston in 1747, the traditional date in the Staffordshire Jervis genealogy.  Burial was 4/29 and the source is Cheshire Parish Registers 1538-2000.
My ancestral search dead ends in Wistaston in 1742 with the birth of my forebear James Jervis to John and Mary Jervis.  There was an Ellen Gervis born to Robert Gervis in 1626, christened October 29, in Wistaston (Cheshire Bishop's Transcripts 1598-1900 but nothing else to do with the family besides Eleanor is recorded until the birth of James' brother John in 1738.

Staffordshire Lookup Requests / Re: Eccleshall baptism Lookup 1670 - ELEANOR JERVIS

I found one unsourced entry listing her place of birth as Staffordshire.  That may have simply been a guess.  I am curious about the Staffordshire Jervis connection to Wistaston.  I trace my own line back to James Jervis, b. Wistaston in 1742 and I am stumped as far as going back any further.  The Wistaston line may be old; an Ellyn Gervise was born there in 1626 to father Robert and then there is no more Jervis activity save for Eleanor until about 1738. I use the LDS Record Search Pilot which brings up different data than its regular Family Search vehicle. For some reason, it is finicky about Wistaston, sometimes yield few or no results.  I contacted LDS and this will not be a permanent search tool unfortunately so they have no plans to fix it.  If you don't get results using it, try Jerviss.  It is supposed to use Soundex but Wistaston appears to be the exception.
