Certainly puzzling. There were plenty of Grace Pomery in Cornwall round about that time. Try
Name   Grace Pomery
Residence   Kenwyn, Cornwall, England
Probate Date   7 Aug. 1846
Death Year   Abt 1846
which may be the death of your Grace and may contain a clue.

Are you still interested in the Swan family at Cowpen Nigh House? If so, I believe that Isobell Swan is my many times great grandmother also, but I have been unable to prove it because there are not adequate parish records in ANCESTRY. I have my ancestry traced back very accurately to a Jane Swan, whose grandmother's name was Isobell Swan, and who married a George Purvis at Norham on 29 July 1804, but cannot connect the two. The text attachment is the best I can do from the original word document.

HI GEAH

YES I CAN SEND YOU WHAT I KNOW. SOME IS OBTAINED FROM HIS DAUGHTER, BUT MOST IS BY SEARCHING THROUGH CENSUSES ETC VIA ANCESTRY. MY SUBSCRIPTION TO ANCESTRY GIVES ME ACCESS TO ALL UK RECORDS.

THE MATERIAL OBTAINED THROUGH ANCESTRY IS ALL IN MY "DODD" FAMILY TREE IN ANCESTRY, WHICH IS A PUBLIC TREE, THOUGH OF COURSE IT REVEALS NOTHING ABOUT PERSONS STILL LIVING.

SO I THINK THE NEXT STEP IS FOR YOU TO SEND YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS BECAUSE THE INFORMATION IS QUITE VOLUMINOUS. HOWEVER, IF YOU ARE FAMILIAR WITH ANCESTRY YOU CAN ENTER IT AND FIND MY DODD TREE. MY NAME IN ANCESTRY IS MERTHERUNY.

THE SECOND STEP IS FOR YOU TO TELL ME WHETHER YOU CAN ACCESS WHAT I HAVE PUT INTO ANCESTRY AND IF YOU WANT ME TO EMAIL ADDITIONAL MATTER TO YOU. OBVIOUSLY YOU DONT KNOW HOW MUCH ADDITIONAL MATTER I HAVE BUT EQUALLY OBVIOUSLY I DO.

Hi
My sister in law is a daughter of Archibald Middleton Dodd, who served as an officer in WW1.

There clearly is a relationship between "your" Arthur Middleton Dodd and "our" Archibald.

I wonder if you have any further info about that Dodd family who used Middleton as a given name - apart from census, and such records as I have found on ANCESTRY?

I am particularly interested in what happened to Archibald after my sister in law was born in about 1936.

Australia / Re: Arthur Charles WEMYSS, born 1831

An Arthur Charles Wemyss signed an affidavit on 10th december 1906 concerning the will of Eleanor Edelsten. In that affidavit, Wemyss records himself as a farmer of Carapooee, which is a small area south of St Arnaud, Victoria. The affidavit can be inspected and photographed at the Victoria Records office.
