Hello Adam,  Just an afterthought, as your reply #86, M.I. does not give info for Johnson Grinling, could you let me know if it is possible for me to check anywhere on line, to determine if he is buried in the same grave as his wife?   Thanks   Gerry.

Thanks Adam, everything now fits in, also I will watch for connections with the Race family name in the Crook area.  Regards    Gerry.

Hello Adam,  Many thanks for your reply #86, definitely the correct Grinling, Susan Grinling (nee Race) was born 19 Feb 1832 Horringer Suffolk, her death on 8th May 1906 would mean she was 74 when died not 54, could the 7 have weathered to be mistaken for a 5.? Her husband Johnson Grinling was born 1833 & died 1916 age 83, pity there isn't any more info for him on the stone, but all info is gratefully received, thank you, I hope you are now fit and well after being in hospital.
                     Regards    Gerry.

                 Thank you    Gerry.

Hi,     I wonder if anyone living in the Whitby area would be able to look at the "Whitby Gazette" archives for 4 or 5 events, 1900 - 1927 period, as I am living in Australia I do not have any chance to access it.  Many thanks,    Gerry.

Hello Adam,   Thank goodness, I am making progress, I have the correct threads now for Etherley & Escomb, I was beginning to think I wouldn't get anywhere before I became an ancestor myself, as I will be 82 in a few days. Thank you for your help and patience.   Gerry. ;)

Hi Adam, I am still having problems finding the correct thread for M Inscriptions you deal with, I thought I sent you a message yesterday, replying to M I's Escomb but it obviously did not go through, can I send you a PM to sort it out? Regards  Gerry
