i am shirley.  my mother was dorothy eunice lantz.  she had an older brother delbert miles lantz.  her mother was maud miles lantz who died in 1929 in los angeles county, california.  my moms dad was delbert harry lantz who died 1926 in los angeles county, california.  in a 1910 census my grandfather, delbert harry lantz states that he was born in 1879 in ohio and his parents were from germany.  my problem (over 3 years) of searching, i cannot find any information on my grandfather, delbert harry lantz in ohio or any where else.  he worked for bekins van and storage  as a warehouse foreman and i have his military registration.  my grandfather and grandmother were married in redlands california in approximately 1907. is there anyone out there who remembers this lantz family or who might be related.  i am trying to do a family tree but cannot find the "limbs" to attach to the tree.  thank you ahead of time.

 Debbie ::
 In your last most welcome replie you asked me several questions, So I will try to cover them all as well as some additional tidbits that may not even matter or apply but I feel it will help paint more of a picture of my Dad. First off there are  a couple of forms such as his ww 1 draft registration and his I D booklet he filled out when he arrived in England in 1917. I dont have a copy of the draft card however the information is close if not the same as his I D booklet. It may be possable for me to send a photo copy to you on some of the info I have , That is as soon as I get a better handle on how to navagate Rootschat systum. Its 10 pages long. They asked his fathers name  John Garnet  Nationality [American]and under that line they asked [if aquired another nationality give particulars] he enters St Louis Missouri. Below they asked the same for his mothers maiden name He entered not known then he lined through that and enters Nora  american [aquired another nationality] born Sedalia Missouri, I searched for them in MO but no luck. I have in front of me the original marrage license of James and Phillis dtd 1 mar 1919 #177632.  Two months after their wedding they boarded the S S  Aquitania. Dad as a U S soldier and mom as a war bride docking at Ellis Island Mar 30 1919.  Also in front of me I have a copy of form 545 prepared by the veterans administration using information supplied by my dad James Garnet. This form is dated 1938 not 1919 when he was discharged. He was discharged at camp Devins Mass Nov 21 1919. As per his seperation papers he filled out his Draft Card at the American council London England not Bangor Maine so he could have bin from Timbuck Two or eny wher else so the consulet would send it to the state he chose Maine. Remember he stated on several forms he had no postal address in the U.S  Hay this is enough for now I have other info that will help  LATER  Thanks fror listening

England / Looking to re connect to Turner family.

This may be a long shot!  But here goes.  Trying  to locate Frank and George Turner, This would be on my mothers side of the family.My Grand father and mother along with their three children Frank, George and Phyllis [my mother ] were residing at 25 Duncan terrace Islington N 1 when my mother was born in 1900 . Moving along to 1919 when my mother met and married James Garnet and left England in 1919 for U.S. My two uncles Frank and Georgr owned and operated the Frank Turner exhibition stand fitters at 132 & 134 Liverpool Rd London. The last time I had contact with them was in 1953 when  my ship tied up at Southend on sea. In 1959 when my mother passed away all contact evaporated . I believe there may be other family members in the area  I do know that eather Frank or George had two sons one was Richard and was a police officer in the London area.  Thanks for opening and reading this request.

Canada / Re: ships leaving St john New Brunswick CA
« on: Saturday 25 September 10 00:56 BST (UK)  »
Thanks for your response,  Will work on these leads and see what happens.   My dad dint leave much to go on he hardly ever spoke of his past so from 1886 to 1917 he don't ex-hist, He only told us he was an orphan but where and for how long nothing. When he left St John in 1917 he was required to fill out a I.D booklet on his arrival in England giving his place of birth as Bangor Pinobscot county Maine fathers name John deceased. I lived and worked in Maine for four years and searched records and asked questions all over the state but with no results. My reason for all this above info is in case someone opens this sight it may help. He may in his youth served as a cabin boy aboard ships for he knew the sea coast and ports from N.Y to Novascotia  and ships rigging from stem to stern. Thanks again

Trying to find out what ships left St john on the first week Jan 1917 and arrived Liverpool Feb 16 1917, Would like to have passenger list as well as crew members. Looking for my father who at the time I believe worked for Gaston Williams & Wigmore Ltd. Montreal or London his occupation was a motor engineer for the company. The ship may have been owned by the co. The Lord line?  Thanks
