In that case, it would be a baptism by your definition.
Thanks again- let's hope the marriage certificate brings some joy!

Shropshire Lookup Requests / Matthias Evans born circa 1877-1880
« on: Saturday 25 September 10 18:02 BST (UK)  »
Hi
Searching my family tree on my father's mother's side now as I wait for some marriage certificates on the other side.
Can anybody help me find out the dob of Matthias Evans. He was born between 1877-1880 near Ellesmere, possibly Kenwick Park Park,Cockshutt .
We know from the 1891 census that he was  recorded as being 11 and living at 27 Kenwick Park with his mother, Eliza and father, Samuel, both 45, and his sister Clara, 7.
Thanks for any help

Any luck? By the way, would be more likely that they would have been christened rather than baptised.  Still waiting for the marriage certificate. Hope I've ordered the right one when it comes! :)

Thanks all,
I'll have a chat with Dad tomorrow.  Looks highly likely that the family didn't stray over the border!  Can anyone explain the fluctuation in ages?
