Hi, I can definitely tell you that Thomas Thorpe and David Thorpe are the same. He was married to Margaret Ellen White, mother Ellen White. There were other siblings as well as the ones you mentioned, one was my Father David Thorpe. I dont know why my grandad gave different birth places on different censuses and I believe that Ellen White was born in Ireland although on one of the census she says born in Salford. I must be related to your Wife if he was her Grandad as well. My grandmother Margaret lived with us after grandad died until her death.
