Hi hamandpineapple,

I am more than happy to help. What I suggest is that we can exchange trees. I am currently travelling but I will check ASAP how much of your tree I have From 1863 onwards ..... I have back to the 17th century. Plus a few ideas of where it goes from there.

I am still waiting to hear back from Ferret1 abt their claim that "They were originally called HARKER but changed their name in order to get money left in a will". I don't dispute the name change but I don't think it had anything to do with the money which came later on the death of a relative.

But happy to hear any other theories especially if there is documentary evidence.

Dear Ferret1,

Being familar with this family and their lineage through Norfolk Family History Society (NFHS) I have seen no evidence to support your statement

"They were originally called HARKER but changed their name in order to get money left in a will".

I'd be very interested in hearing of your source.
