Thanks for the information Camillo, it is nice to know they are at rest together.
It is nice to put faces to a story so here is a picture I sent to Hammy and Marvin a while back.
The picture is of Davie Hamilton his wife Mary Ann and their children taken around 1914-15.  Sadly, Mary Ann died not long afterwards of tuberculosis in august 1915.
John Joseph who is Hels13 (Helen) and my Grandfather as well as being Hammy's and Helena's (Hels13 also) Great Grandfather is standing at the top left of the photo.  Mary, who is Marvin's and Berniemc's Grandmother is standing in front of him.  The other children are Nan (Annie) standing in the middle, David and Jeannie (bottom right).
p.s Hi Helen and Helena hope you and the rest of the family are keeping well.  The family is going to have to get together sometime and meet.......

Hi M, I'm glad the info was useful.  I have been speaking to my sister who lives in the Bicester area and she has some family info and photos which I hope to have a look at in the near future.  You may be interested to know that you have a few more relatives in various shapes and forms down south as well, my mother's sister lives in Bedfordshire.  As for posting on Kerrydale Street, well that wasn't me but I know of two cousins and a niece who used to live in Glasgow but I lost contact years ago.  One of the cousin's I think inherited David Hamilton's football memorabilia (medals, caps etc) which I remember seeing at my Grandad's house(John Joseph) in Glasgow when I was a youngster.  I think I will leave a message on Kerrydale Street as well, you never know!
Hope to speak to You soon.....

Hello again M, it was good to hear from you.
In answer to your question, although my sister and I were born in Glasgow Scotland we no longer live there.  I live in Wiltshire whilst my sister lives in Oxfordshire, so we aren't that far away!  I have a bit more information on our great gran Mary Anne Gilroy for you, so here goes....
Mary Anne Gilroy was born in Glasgow on the 11th Sept 1880.  Her parents were John Gilroy (b. abt1842) and her mother was called Ann Quin (b.abt 1844).  They were both born in Ireland but moved to Scotland and married in Glasgow on the 28th Oct 1872.  John Gilroy died on 3rd June 1900 and Ann died on 23 Apr 1888.
John Gilroy's parents were Owen(?) Gilroy a school master and Mary Lynch and Ann Quin's parents were John Quin and Judith (Julia?) Fitzpatrick.
On David Hamilton, our Great grandad's side, his father was James Hamilton (1850-1915) who married Jane Morton (1848-1923) in Glasgow on the 31st October 1871.  I believe James Hamilton's mother and father were Catherine(?) Fitzpatrick and David Hamilton although I am still researching into this.
I hope this helps and hope to hear from you soon......

Hi, I have recently started to research my family tree and believe we must be related.

My great grandfather was David Hamilton who was born in Glasgow in 1882 and died on 25th feb 1950 and yes, he did play for Glasgow Celtic.  He married Mary Anne Gilroy on 1st of October 1903 in Glasgow.  their children who were called Nan, Mary, Jeannie, David(1 of rwins deceased) and my Grandfather John Joseph Hamilton (1906-1982).

My Grandfather married Helen Welsh McEwan(1906-1989) on the 25th Feb 1925 and had 3 children and my mother Violet (1932-2008).

My mum married my dad 1n 1952 in Glasgow and had 2 children.  I hope this helps you.
