Hi Janet,

What date would your William have been born? It is not impossible but Wexford some way from Cavan, although having said I dont know what happened to William, I can only trace James's and Thomas's lines. The family are Church of Ireland though if that helps. Let me know.

My Tree is on Ancestry if you have access.

Hi, have come across this photo in a batch I inherited, am trying to identify the uniform, I think it may be WW1 army or police from that time but that is as far as I have got.

Any help gratefully received

Cavan / Re: Cavan. Schools.

There are some lists of early Kilmore schools registers, in the book 'All Lovely Kilmore' by Wendy swan. From late 1800's to early 1900's. Probaly not the area that the army children would have gone to but may  be useful reference.

Cavan / Re: Staffords of Cavan
« on: Sunday 24 October 10 09:40 BST (UK)  »
Hi
I have a Stafford in my tree as a marriage into it. My tree is on Ancestry, Paterson Family Tree but deatils are Jane Stafford marrying a Robert Kennedy, he died in 1864, I have no other dates for them other than their son John James Kennedy was born 1848 in Ballyhaise.
 Probably not much help.

Thanks for that. I know this Goggins family (living in Corfad, Stradone) is on the 1901/1911 census but I can't make a connection to my line as yet.
