HELLO THERE,

It was my Granny's brother who had the shop.   Their original family name was Cheetham and they all changed their name to Richards... Hence one brother become known at Dickie twice.   There were a lot of brothers (and also 3 sisters), and most of the brothers were photographers also.   Hence the one in Wakefield.   Are you a descendant of this family or have you just found some photos from the shop?

There are quite a lot of descendants still around by the way.   Perhaps they will contact you.

Well thank you very much… this has set off my nostalgia once again.   I so wish I have listened more to my Gran.   And asked her for more details.  Oh well!

Thanks dotty

Hello Jeannie,

I see you have been very busy.   How are you.   I am still in touch with my second cousin who has moved back to the UK.   I think you have met up quite recently if I am not mistaken.

Are you well now?

Hello Shirley,

Yes I come to London often.   How did you get on with your family research?   Do you have more details for me too.

When Ii come up to Preston I will contact you if that is ok with you.   No plans for the moment though.

Lovely to hear from you.   I was just about to write to you personally.  And oups, yes I missed out a generation.  I'm feeling very nostalgic at the moment and I think it is because I have just sold my place in Birkdale and hence feel my past has just gone.  I think I will have to go and visit and do all the old places.   I always used to go past Twembrook (Grans's house).

I'm sorry to hear that you have been not too well.   Let me know by my email how you are.  I will be writing to you too.

Enjoy New York.   I love it.

And did you ever get back to down south to check out the Cheethams graves.

Thinking of you.

Well what a wonderful story.  And how very nice of you to do this for Jeremy.   I have never heard of Jeremy either.   Where does he live?

It must have been a very special day for you all.  When you say Green Park, do you mean Green Park London?

My Gran, Roland's brother would have been thrilled to hear all this.   Thank you so much.  I must say I am feeling very nostalgic at the moment.

Love Dotty

Dear Nicola,

I never sent you the phot of Roland but I think Jeannie must have sent you one.   Hope your research all went well.
