Did you manage to get the details about the Heatlies you needed?
In 1903 the first of The Heatlie family started their involvement as Burgh Officers for the town of Selkirk and this continues to this day with James and Andrew continuing the roll.

Dr. John Scott (1814-1856) Born in Selkirk, Dr. Scott became one of the first doctors and surgeons in Berlin, Canada Dr. Scott was the very first reeve of the newly incorporated Village of Berlin in 1854. He was largely responsible for the Village of Berlin becoming the County seat of local government. Originally buried in the old Swedenborgian Church Cemetery on Church Street he was later moved to Mount Hope Cemetery. Does anyone know where about he was born and when he left for Canada?

Does anyone have any information on Haining Rig House? It has re-appeared from the cut down forest near Middlestead Farm and Howden farm, on the right hand side as you leave the Golf Course leaving from SELKIRK to HAWICK

 ??? Looking for the name of the family who lived in the house, which has now appeared on the Haining Rig sight, which has appeared after the clearing of the trees on the right as you leave Selkirk in the Scottish Borders heading towards Hawick. I have the name Brown, which were the last, I believe to inhabit the House in the 1950's.
