Thanks Jim for your prompt reply

I think the same as you James being home based - The lad who ask me is the grandson - he gave me James Russell Anderson's Certificate of ID on his discharge saying he was discharged on 16th Feb 1919 through 2 Dispersal Unit Shorncliffe - this gave me quite a bit of info - the address for pay was 34 Alexander Street Wishaw Scotland - the fact he was a Loco Driver - with 21 Company - Born in 1887 - his unit home reporting base was Richborough (Kent) - he enlisted 23 Feb 1917 and was married - I searched Ancestry and War sites but no luck - but thank you for your reply and hopefully someone might have a link where I can help his Grandson out

My relative was Reginald Roberts who I believe was a ships steward - Have been trying to find out anything about him - What I know is he married Louie Mulhall in 1902 in Liverpool - Louie was originally from Sligo Ireland - I believe that Reginald died in 1911 somewhere in Algiers - The only details I have comes from their sons birth certificate - Percy Marshall Roberts who was born in 1910 - Percy was killed in 1942 serving with the Gordon Highlanders fighting the Japanese - Louie died in 1933 at the age of 50 in Glasgow (Tayport Street) and have been trying to find her grave to pay my respects - My aim of this request is to find anything about Reginald and would be grateful for any pointers as to where to start

Armed Forces / Re: Info needed on the Tramways Battalion HLT

Hi

The Tramway Bn of the HLI was the 15th Battalion made up mostly of tramcar workers as part of the Pals Battalions

the 16th HLI was the Boys Brigade Battalion and the 17th the Commerce Battalion

There was a war plaque dedicated to the 15th in the transport museum at Kelvinside Glasgow but the museum is in the progress of being moved to a new location and presume the memorial will go into the new complex?
