Hi
My name is Rona Edwards (nee Dawson). Mary Ann Bishop was my great grandmother. She married James Dawson. They had a son Fred my grandfather. I have been trying to find out more about both family's. Any information or copy certificates would be most helpful.

Kind regards
Rona

Hi
Thank you for the idea about James living with another family. I have found that the Wrede's, who lived next to him may be related. Ann Wrede (born 1790)was a Dawson before here marriage. Perhaps his aunt. She has a brother William born 1796. I can find no more information regarding him. Do you know any more?

Many thanks
Rona

Hi
Yes I have assumed this is the correct death entry for Fanny Dawson. James remarried in 1870 to Mary Ann Bishop.
The 1861 census again seems to be the correct James Dawson. However the only  marriage entry  for a James and Fanny states they were married in Great Ouseburn in Yorkshire. This seems quite a distance from Bishops Burton. Regarding John Dawson again no Birth Certificate but Rowley is acceptable as this is near both Bishop Burton, Walkington and Newbold.

Thanks
Rona

Hi
James married Mary Ann Bishop on 17th May 1870. This is his second marriage. I am unsure of his first marriage. It may be to Fanny Parker around 1860 but I have no definite confirmation. I am still looking into this possibility.
Thank you for the idea about James living with John and Ann Wrede. I will look into this although the name Wrede has not arisen before.

Thanks
Rona

Hi
Thanks for the reply. The information I have from the Marriage Certificate is as follows:
Grooms name: James Dawson, Widow, Aged 33, Occupation Labourer
Father: William Dawson, Occupation Labourer
James married in the parish of St Marks, Hull
Witnesses: Robert Glossop, Hannah Acey
Regarding the 1841 Census I am not sure what information you require. I have the following details however:
Book 16
Piece 1220
Folio 4
Page 3
If this is wrong information please let me know.

Kind regards
Rona

Hi
Thank you for your prompt reply. I do not know where he was born or who he married. All the information I have is my great grandfathers marriage certificate which has William as his father. My great grandfather is listed in the 1841 census as living alone in the Provost Fee of Walkingham,Yorkshire. I do not even have a birth certificate for my great grandfather. Do you think that would of travelled from Walkingham to Leeds or York for a christening or marrage? Is there any parish churches in the Walkingham area rather that the Beverley Minster which seems to be the closest? I just do not know where to start looking.

Kind regards
Rona

Hi
I am trying to find a parish record for my G grandfather (William Dawson). The problem is I do not know which parish records to search. I believe they lived in the Walkington area of Yorkshire or even Newbold in Yorkshire. Does anyone have any ideas regarding which church  they may have registered  there Births,Marrages and Deaths?

Kind Regards
Rona Edwards
