Cork / Re: Cudmore
« on: Wednesday 22 August 12 15:47 BST (UK)  »
There was a family of Cudmores in Cork City who owned a Fruit Shop and Wholesale Business. One of the Family is Harold Cudmore who skippered the British Sailing Team in the 1980 `s  He had a sister Jean Cudmore and a brother. Forgotten the Name of his father who married twice.
A Great sailing and yachting family.

Hope this might help.  Boobah

Hi Trazz, as Maggie said I am thrilled to get your message right now, it has always puzzled me re his being buried in Tempo.  Thanks ever so much for that, I would never have found that info. otherwise, I do hope you were not inconvenienced or out of pocket finding it, if so please let me know and I will reimburse you.
I have just come back from Cornwall so hence  the delay in answering this, and not being in touch due to family problems.
Many many thanks again .   Boobah

HI Rawry, my grandmother was Lizzie Savage daughter of John and Helena Savage born 1873 in Bandon Co. Cork. Her maiden name was Lizzie McCabe who grew up in the Bandon area from what I can understand so far. Boobah

Go to Boobah,  Kinsale 123 and you will see Gravestone of John Savage who died  in Kinsale 1909,my great grandfather, he was buried in Tempo Co. Fermanagh and the Olde Bakery Kinsale was founded by Isaac Savage in 1850. and states that he came from Co.Fermanagh.  I am trying to trace the Savage family in Co. Fermanagh, from which we seem to have come from.  The Munster Fusiliers sounds interesting as I have a feeling there must be an army connection somewhere. Call it the Celtic instint if you like.  The best of luck.
I have a relative living one of the direct Savage line I must contact and will let you know if I find anything else out.
Watch this space.

Thanks again Aghadowey, I really need to concentrate on all this again, but I am grabbing just minutes at computer and need more time. Yes I did see that on the census, and must go back over all mail again.
Must ring a relative who I have now traced , she may know more.
Sorry re faux pas.  Boobah
