Carole, Keith, and Mo

Sorry for the late response (thank you).  My computer's been down.

Thank you all SO VERY MUCH!  Looks as though I've got a real mess to figure out here.  I'm being told, over and over, Catherine's last name was Ballentyne or Ballentine but, from what I'm seeing, it certainly appears her maiden name was, indeed,  VALENTINE.

Just got hold of a death certificate on Catherine.  Upon her death in 1920, her son (Dennis O'Donnell) provided Catherine's birth date as July 12, 1857 and her PARENTS to be  PATRICK BALENTINE and BRIDGET MCCABE.
Are there any record out there, showing a Patrick Valentine and Bridget McCabe marrying and/or having "at least" two children (Catherine and Ellen)?
I'm thinking them to have been born around 1835.

Being as I'm told Catherine Valentine/Ballentyne/Ballentine was born in Newcastle Upon Tyne, I'm guessing the Patrick and Bridget's immediate families may have been from around this same area.

I really appreciate your assistance !

Lancashire Lookup Requests / O'Donnell's in Little Bolton
« on: Sunday 11 September 05 20:52 BST (UK)  »
James J O'Donnell (junior), was born to James J and Catherine (Ballentyne/Ballentine) O'Donnell, in Little Bolton, April 27, 1881.  I'm told, the O'Donnell's resided at 12 Back Waterloo Street at the time of birth.  The O'Donnell's may have had one, or two additional children born, in England, prior to 1892.
James Sr (who was born in Lancashire, Oct 3, 1858, to Irish born parents, ) immigarated to the US in 1882.  Catherine (born Jul 12, 1858, in Newcastle Upon Tyne), with son James Jr., immigrated to the US in 1886.
Would love to know who all resided at 12 Back Waterloo in the 1881 and 1891 census (1891, thinking residents could be parents or siblings of James or Catherine); any leads as to who James and Catherine's parents/siblings might have been; marriage data on James and Catherine; birth/death info on any children of the couple; any information indicating which ship(s)/dates they immigrated on and to which port in US and/or Canada; or ANY other information.
I've hit a brick wall.

LostAncester:
Guidance please.  I was the third response to your generous offer to perform free 1901 and 1911 Donegal Census look-ups (O'Donnell).  I keep getting notices that a response has been posted to my inquiry but, when I cut and past the provided link, it shows that another person has requested a look up.  Have I improperly posted my inquiry.  Or, should I be looking elsewhere for the response to my inquiry (I'm a novice at this stuff - hope I'm not doing something that's "messing up" the site.

First... This service you've decided to provide, is very generous.  Many thanks.
1911 Census...
I'm looking for an O'DONNELL household, around Carndonagh, that had a child named Michael (b around 1910); Edward (b around 1906) and Charles (birth year unknown).  Parents were most likely James and Ellen O'Donnell, however, that could be wrong.  The fathers name could have been Philip (wife's name unknown).  There were other children as well (these three immigrated to the Boston Mass area, I not heard of their siblings names).
My great-grandfather, George Lawrence O'Donnell was born in 1864 and left the Carndonagh area in 1864. His brothers, John (b 1867) and Patrick (b 1870) left the Carndonagh area in the 1880's/1890's as well.  I'm "told" their parents were John and Bridget O'Donnell and there were numerous additional children of John and Bridget (James, Philip, Elizabeth to name a few).   Any suggestions as to where I might find earlier information that will expand my knowledge on this family?

Donegal / McElhinney/McElhaney - Fern Look Up
« on: Friday 18 March 05 19:21 GMT (UK)  »
Looking for information on my great grandmother's family (Mary McElhinney/McElhaney, b. Dec 31, 1866, believe in Moville, Co. Donegal, d. 1940 in Massachusetts, USA).  Her parents were HUGH McELHINNEY/McELHANEY and ELLEN FERN.  I'm told her parents, as well as several siblings remained in Ireland.  My great grandmother, and two brothers, immigrated to Massachusetts in the late 1870's - early 1880's.

Any information on Hugh and Ellen, and siblings of Mary, would be greatly appreciated (birthdates, parish name, townships, married names, ANYTHING).

Thank you.

Donegal / O'Donnell-Nelson look up please
« on: Friday 18 March 05 19:07 GMT (UK)  »
Looking for any information regarding JOHN O'DONNELL (b. abt 1831, d. Jul 27, 1896 in Ballybeg, Co Donegal) and wife, BRIDGET NELSON (b. abt 1824, d. Jan 19, 1920 in Altashne, Co. Donegal).  I'm told, they were married, in Co Donegal, Feb 22, 1856.  Carndonagh has been a constant family mention.

My great grandfather was their son, George Lawrence O'Donnell.  He reportedly was born in 1864 and immigrated to the US in 1884 (can't find record of his arrival in the US).  I'd be very interested in names / married names of my great grandfather's siblings (with birthdates/spouse names, or whatever information may be available).  Or, if available, the names of John and Bridget's parents/siblings.

Any assistance would be welcomed.

Sligo / McNulty in Aclare (Culdaly)
« on: Wednesday 09 March 05 08:42 GMT (UK)  »
My grandmother, Catherine Agnes McNULTY was born Dec 29. 1890, in Aclare (Culdaly), County Sligo to Anthony McNulty and Winnie ROACH.  My grandmother's mother passed shortly after Catherine's birth.  Two, or three older sisters of Catherine's were sent to an orphanage or convent to be raised.  Anthony did marry again (unkonwn as to who) and had more children.
I believe there was brother's/half brother's named Martin and Anthony.  Possibly a Michael.  I know there were full sisters Bessie, Winnie, and Annie (all who immmarried to Woburn Massachusetts in the late 1800's early 1900's).  There were other brother's and sister's but I don't know how many or names.
I understand two (or three) of Martin McNulty's daugthers immigrated to Boston in the 1920's to earn funds to return to Co Sligo to purchase a farm (or individual farms).
Anyone have information on this family?
