Dear J.J.Abbott,

Further to my previous message re Elizabeth Buckley. Elizabeths father was in fact called Ammon Buckley, he was a Mason by trade, so it would appear that the Saddleworth families you listed are not connected to Elizabeth. I remember as a young boy my grandfather (Hammond) telling me that one of his relations came from Yorkshire to work on the building of St. Mary's church Greenfield (one of the Saddleworth villages). Presumably Ammon.

Sorry I suggested that "Hammond" might be the name of Elizabeths father, having now looked at a family tree of another family connected with Addys' I discovered there who Elizabeths father was.

Perhaps in all probability you are now in possession of this information, however if and when you have sight of my messages I would be interested to know and indeed hear from you.

With kind regards,

Benjamin Addy.

Dear J.J. Abbott,

Having strayed onto the RootsChat site , I was amazed to see your enquires about my Great Grandmother, Elizabeth Buckley.

Benjamin Addy was of course my Great Grandfather and Hammond Addy, who I remember very well was my Grandfather. I would strongly suggest that Elizabeth's father could indeed be called Hammond. Hammond being one of our family names. I had a cousin Hammond, now deceased, who was the son of the first son of Hammond (Harry) and I am the son of the second son of Hammond (Benjamin). I am resident in Mottram which is about five miles from Saddleworth. I do hope that you have managed to find Elizabeth's, father. I would be interested to know. If I can be of any assistance to you please don't hesitate to communicate.

With kind regards,

Benjamin Addy.
