Hi Cath
It's me again Kathy.  I have just found your message you left me four years ago so I hope this return message reaches you.  I could not recall the web page we were using and I have searched for you many times I have even ploughed through our local telephone book but to no avail.  I have recently had an op to my shoulder so I am using the time off work to do a bit more family research and finally I have tracked you down.  I was thrilled to hear from you again and so interested to discover who you are.  I did know that Patrick was killed in the first world war I have been trying to find his war records.  His brother Francis was also killed I have a feeling they went off to war together and my sister Brenda seems to think that Francis lied about his age to be with his brother Patrick.  We knew Patrick had married for when we were children we used to play with Francis's medal - it was a huge thing and apparently every family received one with the deceased name engraved on it.  Our grandmother had it for many years but I don't know who has it now.  My grandmother told us that there was another medal but it went to Patricks wife.  I was so happy to hear he had a family that carried on the family name.
I seem to recall you mentioning somewhere on the Internet that you lived in Ormskirk.  My sister lives in Maghull and Philip and Jane's grandson John lives in Maghull also and their granddaughter Kitty (Katherine) lives in Lydiate so not far from you - could be neighbours!!!!!!!!!  We live on the Wirral now but did live in Appley Bridge for several years.  We have two grown up children, two grandchildren and another due in November.  I'm amazed to hear you have Jane and Philips death certificates was it true Philip died of pneumonia - how old was Jane when she died and what did she die of?  You seem to know much more than I do.  My grandmother told me lots of little tales of when she was younger but I was just a kid and not so interested then.  She did spend some time back in Ireland on the family farm to recuperate from pernicious anaemia and by all accounts the family was quite 'well to do' - my husband laughs about it all when I say I married beneath myself it's the family joke! Here's hoping you get this message and it won't be long before we can chat again.
Best wishes
Kathy
