Glamorganshire Lookup Requests / Ethel Mary John
« on: Tuesday 14 October 25 21:14 BST (UK)  »
Hi all I'm trying to find out if Ethel Mary John was ever married and what happened to her. First some info, Ethel was born about 1910 in Pontypridd to parents Thomas John (1871 - 1937) and Sarah Ann John nee Exon (1875 - 1936). She seemed to have lived with her parents and siblings at 3, Wood Road, Treforest, Pontypridd up to about 1932 and then I can't find her, presumably she got married and has a different surname. Any help on this subject would be gratefully received, many regards.

Down / Re: John James Williams
« on: Monday 19 May 25 21:22 BST (UK)  »
Thank you for the replies all, very interesting. Jon James Williams was a miner in the Albion Colliery, Cilfynydd, Pontypridd and originally signed up in 1934(territorial army?). He was a drummer in the Welsh Regiment, he was captured in Evracy, Normandy on the 21st July, 1944 and was a POW in Stalag VIII - B, Cieszyn, Poland. he had 6 brothers presumably then only 3 were old enough to fight in the war. So are we saying he was probably married to a Mary(Minnie) McCulloch then, do I have that right?

World War Two / R A F occupation Northern Ireland
« on: Saturday 26 April 25 19:14 BST (UK)  »
Hi there all, just acquired some information of my grand uncles occupation in 1942. Brinley Parker of Pontypridd,  South Wales  is , according to information I have, employed in 1942 in Northern Ireland. His rank or Profession is written down has (or should I say, looks like) Aircraftman in R.A.F. (1406664) (machinist). Does any of you good people know what this means, what the number stands for etc and possibly a R.A.F. location in Northern Ireland in 1942? Any help would be very much appreciated. Many Thanks

Hi all, thank you all, Carole W, Cas and Ladyhawk, for your help and research, the information you have supplied looks very much like the correct line to follow, but I agree, obtaining a marriage certificate would be the correct way forward to confirm your findings. Again , thank you for replying and helping out. Many kind regards, Daiwalker
