Thomas Kerr, St.James- on- the- line Anglican
Simcoe, Tiny Township
Finder SMTI -3599

THANK YOU !!! Where did you get the information from???

The information that Vbain has posted is from Tiny Township which is in the COUNTY of Simcoe.

Are you looking for information from Simcoe the town, or Simcoe the County cause they are two separate things.

Karen

To be honest not sure, the last known address i've got for my Great Grandpa, Thomas Kerr was in 1946,  and that was 62 Peel Street, Simcoe, Ontario. (Taken from his American Immigration form).

Thomas was born 28 July 1891. In 1946 was living with his son Robert, at 72 Speirs Street, Bearsden, Glasgow.

He has a wife Sarah (nee Graham),  born 1892 in Crossmoyle, Clones, County Monaghan, Ireland
(same address).

His daughter Sarah Beauvais (nee Kerr) born in 1927, in Glasgow, Scotland, is also on the same record living at the same address in Simcoe.

He was friends with a Harry Wilton Oakes, who he served with in the Army, and Harry died in 2002, in Simcoe, Onatrio. His wife Mary Ellen Oakes (nee Kerr), was Thomas' eldest daughter and she too died in Simcoe, Ontario.

Lanarkshire / Re: Kerrs of Lanarkshire (follow up)

A quick update:

Firstly a big thanks to those who originally helped, as a result I was able to track down my great grandpa Thomas Kerr being born in Cambuslang, Lanarkshire, Scotland in 1891 and ended up dying in Simcoe, Ontario.

So far I've managed to trace my ancestors to 1765 in Ayrshire, so once again a big thanks to all who offered their assistance....

Regards

David

I've got several relatives, I know are buried somewhere in Simcoe, Ontario (one of them my great grandpa Thomas Kerr who died in the 1960s), between 1930-2010, but I'm having trouble finding any information of their burial records.  I've tried Ontario burial records, obituaries, newspapers, but not having much success, is there some online resource I'm missing???

I ordered David Kerr (my maternal grandpa) born 1921 birth certificate on 27 February 2013, so I'm (im)patiently waiting for it to arrive, it could be a while as I live in United States, but as soon as I get it I will post details.

I did find a Joseph Graham, and a Sarah Graham living in Lanarkshire (as siblings), around the sametime, and found a Thomas Kerr as an apprentice Electrician, my grandpa David was an electrician for Scottish Television (according to my mom), so this may tie in.... (I use the word 'may' loosely).

Thanks for the detailed interest, will keep you updated as soon as I get it....

Regards

David....

Lanarkshire / Kerrs of Lanarkshire (follow up) - Completed. Thank you all!

Firstly a huge big thanks to all who answered my previous post on information regarding my Grandfather David Kerr born 1921 in Glasgow, Lanarkshire, as a result my mother now has several new half brothers and sister, who I'm trying to arrange a first face to face meeting.

An inquiry of such, (if allowed), that relates to David Kerr's parents.  My suspicion was that Joseph Graham Kerr (David's brother) was named after one of their grandparents chose to be fruitful, as it turns out their parents are Thomas Kerr and Sarah Graham (no dates, but I'm guessing between 1880-1890), I've tried following the usual route of Ancestry, Scotspeople.gov.uk but without much success, any help would be appreciated,
