Super old photos of Parton Village my husband's Hutton ancestors lived here, William Hutton was a Mineral Agent they later moved to Leith, Edinburgh.  His wife Agnes Rae is buried in the churchyard at Parton and William is also named on the gravestone.

Alderney, Guernsey, Jersey, Sark / Re: Completed - Burial Index Jersey- Surname Restorick

Hi Stewart

Once again thank you for your time and effort it really is appreciated.  Finding William and Elizabeth's marriage record is proving ellusive and I think this brings the Jersey research to an end.

William and Elizabeth however, had over 40 years together and 7 out of 9 children who survived  into adulthood and their line continues to the present day.  But without your help I would always be wondering what happened to his parents and siblings.  Thanks again!

regards

Alice

Hi Stewart

Can I ask you once again to assist me? Can you check for a marriage for William Restorick please.

William Restorick married Elizabeth Jane Price, their first child was born in 1858 in Altrincham, Cheshire.  They then travelled all over England before coming to Scotland but I have been unable to find their marriage on findmypast.com, ancestry.com  etc.

On the 1851 Census for Jersey William is listed as a seaman and I cant help wondering how he ended up in Altrincham as there is no port near there.

Hi Stewart

I cant thank you enough for all the information you have discovered for me. The mystery of Martha is solved from all of this, she was James senior's sister,  although the parish records in Hawkchurch, Devon state Robert Pearce(Pierce).  I know where Sand Street is and Kensiington Place is the General Hospital area and the family had lived at Pier Road but cant find George Street on the map.  Any ideas does it still exist?

Thank you again for your help.
