World War Two / Interpreting Abbreviations on Army Records
« on: Friday 13 August 10 16:33 BST (UK) »
This refers to WWII - Can anyone help be interpret the following abbreviations which appear on my father's war record please?
I know that - Lt = Light; AA = Anti-Aircraft; C.M.F. = C(?) Mediterranean Force. I also know that he served in North Africa and then in Italy - possibly Caserta. But I need to know what Emb; N, A and YList and XList mean as I cant find any reference anywhere.
24th Lt AA Regt
24LAA 232/(all?) YList
83LAA 30/42 47LAA Rgt 11242
Emb; N, A
XList 47LAA Rgt
XList II C.M.F
XList III C.M.F.
XList I C.M.F.
YList (e)
Y.List (e)
Reserve 2(T) (when he was discharged in 1946).
