London and Middlesex / Re: Feltham, Middlesex

Hi Ann-Marie,

Aaah, yes, I remember now....it was only a few months ago!

I guess it was just my assumption that the bride would get married in her home town.

I looked at CiderDrinkers comment and I think that he might be on to something.
It appears that Feltham didn't keep records between 1753 and mid-1771 so, as Joseph could have been born at the start of 1771 then we have his younger siblings.
Baptism records exist and they name both parents. The mother being Sarah.

Now, there was a marriage between the following:
Name:    George Juatt
Spouse Name:    Sarah Wade
Record Type:    Banns
Event Date:    18 Jan 1761
Parish:    Bedfont St Mary the Virgin

I think that George would be about 22 at the age of marrying as there is a baptism for a George in Feltham.

  George Jewet
Baptism Date:    16 Dec 1739
Parish:    St Dunstan with St Catherine, Feltham
County:    Middlesex
Borough:    Hounslow
Parent(s):    William Jewet,
Elizabeth Jewet

And, that is as far as I can get....

  Regards,
     Colin

p.s. my previous post was my first post on here and saw that someone else used A* so thought it might be a censored word..

Hi,
The George Jewett 1789 is (I believe) my ggg-grandfather.
I'm not sure who is father is but circumstantial evidence suggests it is William (b1765)
   I can't find a baptism record.

While trying to work out who George's family is I have been trying to patch together all of the Jewetts at the turn of the 19th century in the Feltham/Hanworth area.

Soooo, all of the names mentioned here are familiar and, yes, it is confusing as there seems to be just a few pieces of information available (on the net).

Why do Joseph and Elizabeth/Eliza have two daughters with the "same" names? Elizabeth and Eliza? Unless Eliza died as a baby...

Anyway, back to your original quest. Why is an Eliza from Feltham getting married in Hanover Sq, Westminster. It sounds a bit grand for someone with her background. Where do the censuses say she originated?

BTW, A* has some pages missing for Hanworth  :(
