just a quick thank you to all the hint and help give by the  forum members..
I have got the marrage certificate of  James and Maria Lowe, who where married in Bantry Ireland in 1874.
and Salisbury Lowe born on Spike island, birth certificate , so I moved back to his grand Father a Salisbury Lowe who appears to be gentleman on the marrage certificate ( what does that mean) so next I will have try to find out more about him? any hints people please.

Hi I only recently joined the forum so if this is the wrong place for my question mods please move it.
Question, where would I look for a birth certificate for George Lowe born in Fyzabad India around 1878 he was the son of Private James Lowe, mother Maria Lowe, (nee Day) both born in Ireland.
I be-live James was in the 22nd foot ( Cheshires regiment)at this time. thanks in advance

HI thanks for the previous help, as i am unlikely to be up Cheshire way in the future i would appreciate any help researching the Lowe family. The 1901 census says Maria Lowe aged 45 was in the women's hospital in nantwich work house, and her sons john aged 11 and Harold aged 7 were also at the work house, any records you find would be most helpful, Thanks

KathyB has advised me to contact this forum
I wish to find out any details or information about my families stay in the workhouse
I found their names on the 1901 census as inmates
 my Great Great grand mother Maria Lowe (nee Day)aged 45
born in Ireland around 1857 Banty Cork.
Harold Lowe age 7 born Nantwich.June 1893
John Lowe age 11  born Nantwich, May 1890.
their father James Lowe born 1842 kilcleagh Ireland
was living in Nantwich at this but noy in the work house?

Hi I am new to this forum but I saw this subject on Spike Island and it rangbell? so i checked my family history
I have a Great uncle born on Spike Island in 1876
he was called Sailsbury Lowe.
his father was called James Lowe and was in the army around this time,mother was Maria Lowe (nee Day)
  I would be greatfull for any information related to his birth there.and how to get any documented evidence about him,
