Ok...I KNOW there must be some SMITHS living in this area...I THINK at least one of them would be related to GEORGE ALFRED SMITH who died in WWI in 1917. He married ELLEN BAKer in 1910. GEORGE was my Grandfather and I am having a heck of a time sorting through the hundreds of SMITHS in this area. I know his Dads name was CHAS/Charles and that his father was THOMAS...that is as far as I have gotten. PLEASE,PLEASE,PLEASE.......if anyone out there is my relative or knows of someone who is a relative, I would love to hear from you! I just want to connect with my family and learn more about the SMITH side. Thanks and I will wait patiently for a reply.

I know this is a very common name but I am looking for info on THOMAS SMITH b abt 1775 and married a woman by the name of ANN. They had a son, THOMAS b 1801 in ULCOMB d 1870 MAIDSTONE. and he married MARY BARROW b 1806. THOMAS AND ANN's grandson was JOHN SMITH b1828 HEADCORN and he married HARRIET WHITE b 1832 SUTTON VALENCE. I have the marriage certificate for JOHN and HARRIET, which is where I got THOMAS and MARY from but have come to a screeching halt when I get to THOMAS and ANN. I think it is beacuse there are so many Smiths in England. If anyone can help me find out more about my family, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you for your time.

Hi...my name is Marla and I am looking for living relatives in GRAVESEND,KENT,ENGLAND. My father was GEORGE ERNEST SMITH, son of GEORGE ALFRED SMITH and ELLEN BAKER. GEORGE and ELLEN married in SEP.1910, had three children....CONSTANCE, CHARLOTTE (LOTTI) and GEORGE. GEORGE ALFRED SMITH was killed during WW1 in 1917 and ELLEN immigrated to CANADA in 1920 with the children. ELLEN had a sister,EDITH, who lived in VICTORIA,BC and that is where ELLEN ended up.
GEORGE ALFRED SMITH lived in SOUTHFLEET and ELLEN BAKER was from GRAVESEND. ELLEN'S parents were THOMAS ALFRED BAKER and ALICE LOUISA HORLOCK. If there is anyone out there who is related to me, I would love to touch base with you and find out more info on our ancestors!

I did read everything that was sent but I just wasn't sure if it was the right man and I didn't want to enter anything in my tree that wasn't correct. I know there was a lot of info that you sent but how do I make sure it is the right person or not? I don't know how to do that.

Hi...yes, I purchased my moms birth certificate. That is the only clue I have as to who my grandfather was. Everyone that could have helped me answer my questions are all passed away. I have a family tree on Ancestry.ca and have found lots of info on my grandmother but have hit a wall where John Rowland Bennett is concerned. I have looked for his military records and there are a lot of John Bennetts but without knowing anything else about him, I haven't got a clue which John Bennett to actually research.

Hi...I am looking for family history of JOHN ROWLAND BENNETT. I don't have a date of birth or where he was born , but what I do have is this...JOHN ROWLAND BENNETT was listed on my moms birth certificate. Her name was MARION BENNETT born JAN.20,1918 in BRISTOL,SOMERSET,ENGLAND. Her mothers name was LILLIAN VALERIE M TASKER born 1885 in CHIPPENHAM,WILTSHIRE,ENGLAND. The birth certificate shows JOHN as being a LT. in the ROYAL FLYING CORPS as a CONSTRUCTIONAL ENGINEER in 1918. It lists LILLIAN as being his wife and the house address was 20 BRENTRY RD in BRISTOL.
I have been asking for help since June of this year and although some nice people have sent me a bit of info, it has not lead to anything concrete. Please believe me when I say that I am only trying to fill in the blanks on my family tree...I do not want any member of JOHN'S family, living today, to think I am after anything except to try to put my family history into words. I realize that if JOHN truly is my grandfather, it may have been a bit of a sticky situation back then, that he may have already been married and that my grandmother may have used his name on the birth certificate without really being married to him. I understand that this could be an awkward situation but I really just need help finding some info on him.
If anyone can tell me if JOHN was my grandfather or at least point me in the right direction, I would be truly grateful.

Good morning! Thanks for replying to my message. Are we related to each other? I have yet to find any living relatives but have had other people send me info. My tree is named SMITH FAMILY TREE if you want to go look at it. And like I said my mom was MARION BENNETT . Looking forward to hearing from you again.

Hi...I,too, am looking for more info on Michael Tasker. I am his gr gr granddaughter. His son, Sidney Herbert married Sarah Jane Perrett who had a daughter, Lillian Valerie M Tasker who had a daughter, Marion, who was my mom. I have a tree on Ancestry.ca that you can take a look at if you want...my mom is listed as Marion Bennett. I am having some difficulty tracing Micahel and his family.If you have any more info you can share, I would love it!
